Scottsdale and Phoenix Fire technical rescue crews have utilized a UTV to remove a 60s year-old female hiker from the trail. She started about 7:15 am. She started experience heat exhaustion symptoms and called 911. Scottsdale Paramedics are treating her. A Scottsdale Fire Department Drone was launched 10 minutes into the incident and assist crews in locating the hiker. The drone was flown about 2 miles .

The department owns six drones which are able to fly up to 400 feet and 5 miles away from the drone pilot.
The drone cameras capture 360-degree views, live stream, send exact coordinates of a location, and can even attach water bottles, life vests, helmets, speakers and flashlights for people who may need rescue.
