Owner told 911 that her dog fell into a trench and needed help getting out
The dog had been in the trench approximately 20 mins at the time 911 was called
12 IFD Units dispatched including the IFD Trench Rescue Team
First unit on scene – Battalion 3 at 9:56 AM
Confirmed – 1 dog in trench at 9:58 AM
2 year old American Bully dog named Mansa – did not appear injured
Trench was approximately 3 feet wide and 12 feet deep
The dog owner says the trench was dug by a contractor this morning, left open and hidden by piles of dirt.
The lot is adjacent to where the dog lives with its owners and when they went outside for a walk the dog fell into the hole

Indianapolis Animal Care Services requested to the scene at 10:28 AM
IFD Rescuer in the trench at 10:58 AM
Dog removed from the trench at 11:08 AM
Dog was checked for injury by IACS and released ok
DPW Requested to the scene at 11:16 AM
Contractor arrived on scene at 11:37 AM – DPW disregarded
