On December 4, 2016, firefighters responded to a fire in a vacant building on Caroline Street in Derby (CT). The first arriving companies found a four story mill heavily involved. A second and third alarm was transmitted bringing firefighters from four surrounding towns in on mutual aid. Firefighters put multiple master streams into operation along with four trucks to quickly darken down the blaze. The cause of the fire was suspicious since the building was slated for demolition.
