On July 15, 2016, the Deer Park Fire Department responded to a three-car MVA at the corner of Long Island Avenue and Commack Road. The driver of the one car sustained neck injuries after crashing into the vehicle in front of him, which hit the third car. The driver who sustained the neck injuries was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip and the people of the other cars refused medical treatment.
