SUFFOLK, Virginia (March 31, 2024): Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police responded to
the 2800 Block of Pruden Blvd (near the intersection of Northfield Dr.) for a two vehicle crash
with one vehicle on fire. Suffolk Emergency Communications Dispatch Center dispatched the
incident at 12:42 p.m.

Medic 3 arrived at 12:44 p.m. to find one vehicle well involved in fire and a second vehicle in a
field. The vehicle on fire left Pruden Blvd and hit a tree and then caught fire. Two occupants
(drivers) of the vehicles were injured, and both were out of their vehicle upon arrival of fire and
rescue. Engine 6 put the vehicle on fire out while Medic 3 provided advanced life support
treatment to the drivers of the two vehicles until additional medics arrived. Due to the critical
nature of one of the occupants, Nightingale Air Ambulance was requested to air-transport one
of the two patients. That driver sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition at an area
hospital. The other driver was ground transported by Medic 6 to an area hospital with serious,
yet non-life threatening injuries. As of 2:45 p.m., Pruden Blvd is closed to traffic between Rt. 58
