On October 27, 2016, the Medford Fire Department was activated for a reported garage fire on Robinson Avenue. Upon arrival, Chief Frank Rivera was met with a single-story home with smoke showing and an active fire in an attached garage. The fire quickly extended into the home. Firefighters were faced with heavy hoarding conditions inside the structure making operations difficult. Mutual aid came from Holtsville, Farmingville, North Patchogue and Yaphank. Despite conditions inside the home, the alarm was quickly brought under control. Command requested a fire marshal to the scene for an investigation.
