Charlie Tramontana worked for the Suffolk County Police Department for 30-plus years, beginning in the 2nd Precinct where he served many roles: a patrol officer, COPE officer and eventually a plainclothes officer in the Crime Control section before transferring to the Canine Unit. He spent the last 19 years of his career in Canine. He and his K9 partner were specially trained in narcotics detection.
