The volunteer fire companies of Cardiff and Farmington responded on August 16, 2016, for a report of a dwelling fire with smoke showing. Cardiff Assistant Chief Gil Zonge established command and confirmed smoke showing from a single-story wood frame ranch in the garage. Farmington Engine 1543 arrived first. Two lines were pulled with one stretched to the rear of the garage and one into the front of the garage once the door was opened. The fire was brought under control quickly with command being turned over to Cardiff Chief Steven Sear upon his arrival. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Egg Harbor Township Fire Official, and no injuries were reported. Also responding were the Egg Harbor Township Police and the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad.
