The Brentwood Fire Department, Brentwood Legion Ambulance Corps, an ambulance from the East Brentwood Fire Department and the Suffolk County Police responded to an MVA on Blue Jay Drive about 1840. The driver of an SUV went off the road and crashed into a house and took out the exposure 1-4 corner of the house and destroyed the kitchen. Engines 3-2-2, 3-2-12 and Heavy Rescue 3-2-18 responded. The crew from 3-2-18 put tools into operation to extricate the driver, the crew from 3-2-12 stretched a precautionary line. The driver was extricated and transported to Southside Hospital along with three children from the vehicle. The occupants of the house were not home at the time of the accident. The driver was later charged with DWI. Chief of Department Boyle was in charge of the scene.
