On September 11, 2016, the Lancaster City Fire Department was dispatched for vehicle into a porch on Hershey Avenue in Lancaster City. A male driver lost control of his car, ran over a tree, bounced off a front door of a house and overturned on a neighbor’s newly built porch. Lancaster City firefighters had to stabilize the car on its side and remove the roof of the car to access the driver. There were no other occupants. The driver was freed and taken to Lancaster General Hospital but was not seriously injured, Lancaster City police said.
