Recently, Ansonia volunteers arrived on Platt Street and found heavy fire on the rear porches of a multiple-family dwelling, extending to the attic space. All occupants were out of the building on arrival. With the rapid and large response from the Ansonia volunteers, along with mutual aid from Derby and Seymour, the main body of fire was knocked down quickly. The fire caused extensive damage and a Red Cross Disaster Team response was requested for help with those displaced by the fire.
