On January 8, 2016, the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a chimney fire in the 34000 block of Bookhammer Landing Road in Angola. Engine 86-2 and Quint 86 reported a smoke condition upon arrival. The incident commander, Deputy Chief Jeff Blizzard, requested assistance from Lewes and Indian River and a cover up from Bethany Beach. Also responding was Rehoboth Fire Company EMS and Sussex County EMS. Firefighters from the three companies, made an aggressive interior attach in combination with roof ventilation. While they were hampered by the different truss roofs levels and lack of accessibility to the attic area, they made a good stop on the all-hands fire.
