Five-year-old Gavin Bender faces medical issues every day. Diagnosed with severe allergy, asthma, bipolar and autism issues, young Gavin was given a birthday party by his parents on January 9, 2016. Gavin had a special request. He wished he could go to his party on a fire engine. The Laurel Fire Department got word of his special request and made a very special day for him happen. He came to the station and received a tour, and then saw a demonstration of Tower 81. A very special visitor (Sparky) gave him a visit and then he was transported to his party on Engine 81-3. The fire department also provided gifts for the other children at his party.
