On May 4, 2024, the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded for a residential structure fire on Magnolia Drive, in California, St. Mary’s County. The fire was called-in by a neighbor. Upon arrival, crews found an active fire in the two-car garage. The five occupants of the house were able to escape without injury. Firefighters brought the fire under control within 45 minutes. The owners were assisted by the American Red Cross, as well as family and friends. The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental. One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the incident.
