Just after midnight on January 2, 2017, the Prospect Park Fire Company (8) was dispatched to 14th Avenue for a building fire. Snozzle 8 arrived to a three-story, single-family dwelling with fire showing on division 1, sectors B and C. A second alarm was struck because fire rapidly spread to the floors above due to the home’s balloon frame construction. Crews put five lines in service, did primary searches, ventilated and overhauled. Crews worked on scene for approximately four hours. Assistance came from Norwood (02), Ridley Park (07), Eddystone (12), Tinicum (48), Holmes (43), Sharon Hill (09), Leedom (70), Milmont (49), Llanerch (34), and Brookhaven (52). Crews from Darby (04), and Morton-Rutledge (13) stood by Station 8.
