The Delmar Fire, Slingerlands Fire and Delmar-Bethlehem EMS were dispatched for a structure fire with an entrapment on Kenwood Avenue. Upon arrival, no entrance was made as the house was fully engulfed and multiple large explosions were going off, but everyone had made it out. Two injuries were reported, one patient with smoke inhalation and another who jumped from the second story to escape. “With a major help of the three aerials on the scene, the blaze was knocked down quickly,” said Elsmere Chief Marc Futia. The blaze spread to the parked vehicles outside the home as well as other outdoor equipment. North Bethlehem Fire later arrived to set up a rehab station and Bethlehem Highway Department knocked down the skeletal remains of the home. Onesquathaw Fire was on standby.
