STRUCTURE FIRE: 2 – STORY, 4 – UNIT TOWNHOME COMPLEX

On May 14, 2022, at 7:37 p.m., the Aurora Fire Department responded to the 3000 block of
Bromley Lane for a reported fire in an attached garage. While en-route, Aurora Central Dispatch
received multiple calls. The responding Battalion Chief upgraded to a 2nd alarm bringing a total of
24 firefighters to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found a 2 – story 4 – unit townhome
complex with heavy fire rapidly spreading from a middle unit.

Firefighters from the Engine Companies deployed multiple hose lines and started attacking the
fire as the first arriving Truck Company began an interior search for victims and fire extension.
The second arriving Truck Company was assigned to ventilate the roof. Due to the quick actions
of firefighters, fire damage was kept to the original unit.

The unit was deemed uninhabitable, displacing two adults and two children. Victim Services and
the Red Cross were called to assist the occupants. There were no injuries to civilians or
firefighters, and the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
