On January 24, 2024, the Wilmington Fire Department responded to W 14th Street for a report of house fire. Crews found heavy smoke coming from a 2-story residence. Fire companies entered the residence and performed an aggressive attack on the fire. On male resident was located on the first floor and removed by firefighters. The resident was transported to the Christiana Hospital with serious injuries. The fire was confined to the first floor of the residence with smoke and heat damage to the second floor. The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by the Wilmington Fire Marshal’s Office.
