On March 31, 2016, Providence Engine 12/Ladder 3 responded to a general alarm on Eaton Street. Units arrived to find a fully involved three-decker with extension to two others. High winds threatened rapid fire spread, but an aggressive attack limited damage to just a few houses. Over 20 firefighters were injured, one critically; all were expected to recover. Providence Fire also responded to a four-alarm fire on the other side of the city shortly after.
