Water Rescue in Smithtown Flooding

The Smithtown Fire Department responded to a water emergency on Old Northport Road west of Plymouth Boulevard in Smithtown on December 9, 2019. Two occupied autos were disabled in rising flooding conditions and the people were unable to exit their vehicles. Smithtown firefighters in coldwater rescue suits removed three occupants and brought them to awaiting medical personnel to be evaluated for injuries.
