Major Blaze in Ocean City

The Ocean City Fire Department dispatched Engine 3, Engine 2, Truck 1 and Deputy 3A to Central Avenue in the area of 48th Street shortly after 0300 on December 27, 2018, for a report of flames coming from a home. Engine 3 arrived and reported flames showing from a third floor of a residential building with extension into exposure B, followed by an additional report there was a collapse in the rear of exposure B. Deputy 3A advised dispatch of three structures involved and requested a recall of all off-duty personnel. Mutual aid came from Marmora, City of Margate and Strathmere. The fire was under investigation by the city, state, and ATF officals. Also assisting were Ocean City Police and Upper Township EMS.
