Five Points’ Past-Chief Ed Austin

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018, 8:11 pm

Five Points Fire Company announced the passing of past-Chief Edward C. Austin on October 10, 2018.

In addition to being Chief for many years, Ed was a life member of Five Points as well as past-President of the IAFC-Eastern Division and past-President of the Delaware Valley Fire Chief’s Association.

Ed was very active for many years and was always willing to help any way he could, either with apparatus maintenance or fire equipment supplies through his family business, Austin and Pruitt Fire and Safety.

Services and viewing were held at the station on October 17, 2018, and Chief Austin was carried aboard the 1932 Howe/Gramm to his final resting place in the Longwood Cemetery in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Ed will be missed by many at Five Points.
