Kevin Holmes looks inside an overturned car in front of 1786
Union Street in Niskayuna that sent the driver to Albany Medical
Center with a head injury shortly after 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, May
14, 2008. The car headed east bound on Union Street swerved to
the right hand side of the road, striking a utility pole guide
wire, causing the car to flip and slide nearly 100 feet before
coming to rest.

Wappinger accident

On Friday, June 20, 2008, at approximately
5:30 a.m., the New Hackensack Fire Department, Town of
Wappinger/Transcare Ambulance, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s
Office, and the NYSP were dispatched for an auto accident at
#1222 Rte 376 in the Town of Wappinger. The DCSO was quick to
arrive on the scene and advised DC911 that it was a one-vehicle
accident with a car into a residence with one injury. Upon
arrival of Fire and EMS personnel, they found that a vehicle had
failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, struck a residence,
bounced off the same, and then continued on striking a tree
where it came to rest. The occupants were startled by the
attempted intrusion of the vehicle into their residence but were
uninjured. The injured driver who was reportedly intoxicated was
transported to Saint Francis Trauma Center for treatment of his
injuries.

Selkirk
Overturn

On July 3, 2008, the Selkirk Fire Department
responded to an overturn on the New York State Thruway. Traffic
was backed up for a few miles until the mess was sorted out.
