Thursday, February 7th, 2019, 7:56 am

On the morning of December 27, 2018, New Rochelle firefighters were dispatched to Lockwood Avenue for a report of smoke in the area. On arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from a large church. A second alarm was transmitted as the fire grew. The fire, which ran the top floor of the church and into additions of the structure, burned intesley off the dried out wood used in the building, with voids throughout. Over 70 firefighters from New Rochelle and Yonkers worked to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire was under investigation by federal, state and local agencies.
